It's our 1st Birthday!
In July, we celebrated the first anniversary of our founding, and August marks one year of having 501(c)(3) not-for-profit status.
A message from our founders
When our children were diagnosed with NALCN-related disorders, our doctors emphasized the crucial role of patient-led organizations in driving progress. And so a dream was born. From early conversations with other organizations—learning from their successes and challenges—to spending countless hours perfecting our mission, values, and pillars of hope that will center us for years to come, those days (and nights) now feel like a distant memory.
As parents who initially felt so hopeless, reaching our first anniversary feels monumental. Reflecting on the past year, what warms our heart the most are the relationships we've built—among families, with physicians and scientists, and within our ever-growing community of donors.
As busy working parents who started a volunteer-run non-profit on the side, we do this work for our children and future generations around world, but it's these relationships that reward us and motivate us to keep going.
With hope and gratitude,
Shayanne, Jeremy & Suzanne

But what about the science?
We'd be remiss not to acknowledge the scientific progress from the last year. We will report on this in a future newsletter.
Lastly, get your CHF gear!
To celebrate, the Channeling Hope store has re-opened, this time with the addition of first birthday gear. $5 of every purchase supports our operation costs. If you're outside the US and interested in making a purchase, please email us.
